Hair

In my youth, I loved to draw faces. Not portraits of people, but faces that emerged from my imagination, with large eyes and profound depth. So, when I wanted to see how a large drawing would look on a kimono, without thinking much, I drew the girl's face with a few lines and filled the remaining space with her hair.

To see the sketch in color, I started filling it with paints and became engrossed. I realized that these waves of hair, akin to ocean currents, were living their own life within my artwork.

There is magic in it! And it became a great reason to create a fabric print. Now, I had to work diligently on the design and incorporate it into the kimono patterns.

To myself, I simply call this artwork: "Hair."
